Dan Drugan with the Calleguas Municipal Water District was our guest speaker at the meeting.  He provided a presentation on severe drought conditions in California and the emergency water restrictions currently in place for southeast Ventura County.  Many communities in southeast Ventura County have implemented a 1-day per week outdoor watering restriction.  If the upcoming winter season results in yet another critically low snowpack for the Sierras, there could be a “no outdoor watering” restriction as soon as Spring 2023.  The water districts have focused on the watering of turf and encourage residents and businesses to look into turf replacement rebate programs.  More information on the drought and rebate programs can be found at www.bewaterwise.com.
